How we work & practical questions

We build our own products.
We bring that care to yours.

Good software takes more than a set of screens. We work through the details with you: what people need, how the business works, and what a useful first release looks like.

See what we’re building

A starting point that fits.

You don’t need a finished brief.
We can help you work out the scope.

Clear steps. Shared progress.

Stay involved from the first conversation
to the first release.

  1. 01

    Understand

Talk through your goals, users, existing systems, and constraints.

  2. 02

    Make a plan

Agree on the scope, design direction, milestones, and what delivery includes.

  3. 03

    Build together

Review working progress, give feedback, and test the important journeys.

  4. 04

    Launch & hand over

Prepare for release, walk through the finished work, and agree on any ongoing support.

A few practical details.

Can we start with a small project?

Yes. A landing page, a focused feature, or a prototype can be a useful place to start. We’ll help separate what you need now from what can wait.

Can you work on our existing website or app?

Yes. We’ll first review the current setup and your goals, then recommend whether to extend, refine, or rebuild the relevant parts.

How do pricing and timelines work?

They depend on the scope, integrations, content, and level of design involved. We’ll work through those details with you before agreeing on a proposal and milestones.

What happens after launch?

We’ll agree on handover and support as part of the project. Ongoing maintenance and future improvements can be scoped separately around what your team needs.

Let's talk about your site

What would your website cost?

Build an estimate around your pages, features, and ongoing support.

Your project

A clear public website for your business.

Changing project type removes its automatic suggestions and adds the new ones. Extras you select yourself stay selected. Switching between repairs and a new build resets the scope.

No automatic redesign surcharge. Select migration if needed.

Suggests a currency; it never changes the GBP price.

Scheduling is confirmed in the quotation. No automatic urgency fee.

Website locations

Reuse the same website design for each location, with different text, images or local prices. The first location is included in your base build.

Include your first location. Each extra location adds 30% of the base build price, rounded to the nearest £1 before currency conversion. Location charges do not compound.

Maintenance adds £19.00/month for each extra location, in addition to any selected care plan or annual hosting. Different designs, features and complex branch workflows need separate scoping.

Business software, access and existing systems

These choices help scope a portal or software project. Public pages and functional modules are priced separately.

More than three branches needs workflow review.

We omit the new foundation charge and flag integration for review. The subtotal will be a partial estimate.

Pages

Home, About, Services, individual services, portfolio, Contact and substantial FAQ pages count as main pages.

Presets fill in page quantities; there is no extra package fee. Their totals are rounded; page rates below stay exact.

£199 each. Approximately six to eight sections using the agreed design.

£75 each. Optional; choose only those relevant to your business.

Support-page pricing covers layout and publishing of approved content. Legal drafting is separate. A substantial help centre or interactive support system needs its own scope.

Selected modules include their functional screens. Do not count every product, customer, reservation or database record as a page.

Included with new or fully rebuilt pages
  • Shared header and footer
  • Consistent brand styling and responsive layouts
  • Placement of supplied text and images
  • Basic titles, descriptions, headings and sitemap
  • Image optimisation and basic accessibility checks
  • Appropriate browser and device testing
  • Two consolidated visual revision rounds
  • Standard deployment
  • Thirty days of defect support for the delivered scope

Pick only what you need for the first release. Project types suggest features; review the selected work for your project. Required items appear with an explanation.

Separate customer data and access for SaaS.

£2,000 – £5,000

Content and care

Writing for selected main pages; choose only the pages that need it.

£100 – £200 each

Static website care

Up to 30 minutes of small edits plus routine checks each month.

Care is unselected by default and does not change your build price. Extra-location maintenance is charged separately at £19 GBP/month per additional location, even without optional monthly care.

Editable websites include a separate £200/year hosting and routine CMS maintenance allowance, shown above when selected. Domains, business email, paid subscriptions, payment-processing fees and usage charges remain separate.

Review and contact

Review the breakdown alongside this form. You can change any earlier answer without losing your selections.

Email-draft enquiry. We’ll prepare a summary for your email app. Opening the draft does not send it; review and send it yourself.

Your contact fields, existing URL, date and notes stay in this page until you choose to copy them or prepare an email. They are never saved or put into shared links. Privacy policy.

Pricing questions

Frequently asked questions

How are extra locations priced?

The first location is included. Each additional location using the same design adds 30% of the base website build, rounded to the nearest pound before currency conversion, plus £19 GBP/month maintenance. The percentage is always based on the original build, never compounded. Different functionality or layouts need separate scoping.

What counts as a main page?

Home, About, Services, individual service pages, portfolio, Contact and substantial FAQ/help pages. A normal page has around six to eight sections using the agreed website design.

What counts as a support page?

A simpler, text-focused policy or support page such as privacy, terms, refund or cancellation information. Select only relevant pages. Legal drafting and interactive help systems are separate.

What is included in £199?

The shared design, responsive layout, supplied text and image placement, basic search metadata, image optimisation, accessibility checks, browser/device testing, two consolidated visual revision rounds, standard deployment and thirty days of defect support for the agreed scope.

Why does backend work cost more?

It adds data handling, access rules, workflows and integrations. Modules include their functional screens. Shared infrastructure and required authentication are counted once.

Is the estimate a final quotation?

No. We confirm scope, currency, third-party costs and final price in writing. Unpriced requirements are clearly listed, and any displayed subtotal remains partial.

Are hosting and domains included?

Editable websites include standard hosting, backups and routine CMS updates at £200/year, separately itemised. Domains, business email, paid platform subscriptions, processing and usage charges remain separate. Other projects are scoped individually.

Can I use my existing domain?

Yes. We can plan deployment around it, subject to access to the domain and hosting settings. Domain renewal fees remain separate.

Can you redesign an existing website?

Yes. There is no automatic redesign surcharge. Select website-content migration when appropriate, and share the current URL privately in your enquiry.

Can I update content myself?

Choose an editable website or managed content system for one editor role and a simple collection. More complex publishing or custom administration needs a separately scoped module.

Are monthly care plans required?

Monthly care is optional and covers additional agreed work. Editable websites have a separate £200/year hosting, backups and routine CMS update allowance, included in the known first-year total.

How do currency conversions work?

GBP is the source price. We use a single dated daily reference-rate snapshot for every displayed item. If recent conversion data is unavailable, we show GBP. Invoice currency and amount are confirmed in writing.

Can I request something missing from the calculator?

Yes. Select the relevant review item or I need advice and describe it in your enquiry. Shared links include only scope choices; they may recalculate when prices or rates change.
