PHOTO LEDGER / YOUR INFORMATION

Data, Backups & Deletion

Remove local records carefully, while keeping gallery copies, exports, videos and backups in view.

Before you remove data

Deletion can permanently remove your photos, videos, context and settings. Export a needed photo-ledger backup and important videos separately before continuing. Videos are excluded from photo-ledger backups. Keep backup files private and check that a backup is complete before relying on it.

There is no app account to delete and no Matrixbreach-operated photo cloud. Matrixbreach cannot remotely erase a ledger held only on your device. Emailing support or opening this page does not perform deletion. If troubleshooting, use safe checks first rather than clearing storage or reinstalling.

Delete all local data in the app

  • Open Settings → Delete all local data.
  • Read the confirmation, including “Permanently delete this ledger?”, and continue only after saving the files you need.
  • Confirm only when you intend to remove the private ledger. Data removed without a valid backup may not be recoverable.

The app’s private deletion is different from removing copies already saved to Photos/gallery, exported elsewhere or included in system backups. You must manage those separately. This page cannot activate the in-app control.

Individual photos and Trash

Use the photo’s gallery action to move it to Trash. The current Trash filter offers Restore; moving a photo there retains its original and is not permanent deletion. To remove the whole private ledger, use Settings → Delete all local data and its confirmation after preserving anything you need. Do not assume that moving a photo to Trash has erased every copy.

Before permanent cleanup, export anything you need. For videos, use the video list’s removal controls as presented and preserve an important recording separately. Removing one private record is not a remote command to other apps or recipients.

Gallery copies, reports and shared files

  • Delete public gallery/Photos copies in the system gallery; private-ledger deletion does not automatically erase them. This includes any separately saved originals.
  • Remove exported PDFs, images, videos and photo-ledger backups from Files, Downloads, drives or other locations where you saved them.
  • Manage shared copies with the recipient or destination service. Removing your local file cannot recall copies someone else holds.
  • Check OS/device backup settings separately. Uninstalling does not guarantee that historical cloud or computer backups disappear.

Device-level alternatives

Android: open device Settings → Apps → GPS Map Camera: Photo Ledger → Storage, then the control for clearing storage/app data. Names vary. Clear cache is not the same as clearing app data. Review the warning before continuing.

iOS/iPadOS: choose Delete App through device storage settings or the Home Screen removal controls. Offload App retains documents/data and is not equivalent to deletion. Removing an icon alone is not deleting the app.

System backup and restore settings can separately affect what is retained or restored. There is no guaranteed device-transfer or recovery service from Matrixbreach.

Support correspondence and privacy requests

To request access, correction or deletion of correspondence you sent to Matrixbreach, email connect@matrixbreach.com, preferably from the original address. Identify the message by approximate date or subject and explain the request. Do not send identity documents by default; any verification should be proportionate.

Legal recordkeeping duties, relevant disputes and provider backups may affect removal. No unverified deletion deadline is promised. Never send a private backup merely to request deletion help. Unsent drafts in your mail app are managed there, not in a Matrixbreach support inbox. See Privacy Policy.
